APlus Consulting was established in 2017 by Alistair James, Pr Eng. We provide advisory and review services to consultants, financial institutions, law firms, investors and industry, with a focus on mining, waste and water.
We work with a network of senior professionals to provide practical, commercially aware technical advice on waste, water and natural resource management. Assignments range from short-form independent reviews and due diligence work to long-term Engineer of Record appointments.

Approach
Tailings, waste and water decisions have long timescales. We consider closure, post-mining land use and regulatory requirements from the start of each assignment.
Probabilistic and deterministic risk assessment integrated into capital, operating and closure cost estimates.
Designs evaluated against post-mining land use and long-term liability throughout the project life.
Work delivered in line with the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management, Equator Principles, IFC performance standards and applicable regulations.
Findings reported clearly and without bias, including unpopular conclusions where supported by the evidence.
